Services

Your tobacco, processed to your specification

Independent processing capacity for tobacco exporters, leaf merchants and overseas buyers, from a single trial lot to a full season’s programme.

How we can work together

Four ways to use our capacity

Several medium-volume contracts, overflow work and smaller programmes all fit alongside each other on a 60 MT/day line.

  1. 01

    Contract / toll processing

You procure or nominate the tobacco; we process it against your agreed specification. You keep control of sourcing, grades and buyers.

  2. 02

    Seasonal overflow

Additional capacity when your own plant, or your usual processor, is full during the season.

  3. 03

    Emergency & shutdown cover

Contingency capacity for integrated processors during a breakdown or a planned plant shutdown.

  4. 04

    Special lots & trial batches

Special or unusual grades and trial lots, useful for new customers and for companies with their own GLT plants.

Integrated support

Processing, packing and storage under one roof

  • Threshing line with conveyors on the factory floor

    Stem / lamina separation

Threshing to separate lamina from stem to the agreed specification.

  • Redrying machine running down the factory

    Moisture control

Redrying to the specified final moisture and tolerances.

  • Packing press on the factory floor

    Packing

Packed to the agreed format, with packing type and bale or carton specifications set per programme.

  • Covered stacks in the warehouse

    Warehousing

Approx. 4,600 sq. m of on-site warehouse space for customers’ tobacco.

Export preparation

Where commercially and operationally applicable, we support container preparation and shipment staging for processed tobacco leaving the plant for export.

New buyers start small

The trial-order path

Your first transaction with us doesn’t need to be a large commercial programme. Most new relationships, especially with overseas customers, follow six steps.

  1. 1

    Plant audit

Visit and inspect the Guntur plant.

  2. 2

    Technical discussion

Grades, processing requirement, moisture and packing.

  3. 3

    Sample specification

Agree the specification for a sample lot.

  4. 4

    Trial lot

Process a trial lot to that specification.

  5. 5

    Quality evaluation

You evaluate the processed trial lot.

  6. 6

    Commercial programme

Move to a commercial-scale processing programme.

Preparing a quotation

What we’ll ask you

We quote against an actual technical specification. To prepare one, we’ll need:

  • Tobacco type and grade
  • Quantity
  • Incoming tobacco condition
  • Processing specification
  • Threshing and redrying requirement
  • Final moisture
  • Packing format
  • Storage period
  • Delivery schedule

For overseas buyers

Nominate us as your Indian processor

You don’t need to change your existing tobacco supplier. Buy through your normal sourcing channels and nominate A.S. Krishna as the processing base for your Indian purchases.

  1. Foreign buyer
  2. Indian sourcing partner / exporter
  3. A.S. Krishna, nominated processor
  4. Processed tobacco
  5. Export to buyer

Start with a conversation

Tell us about your upcoming crop programme.

Tobacco type, estimated tonnage and processing period are enough to begin. We can arrange a plant visit or a trial lot.
