One site, one path

Stage 01

The plant stands on an approx. 17,800 sq. m site on Grand Trunk Road (North), Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.

From the main gate, a tree-lined driveway leads up to the office block.

Stage 02

The company’s offices are on site, at the head of the driveway.

Buyers and auditors can visit the plant by appointment.

Stage 03

Approx. 4,600 sq. m of on-site warehouse space for customers’ tobacco.

Stacks are kept covered and moved by forklift.

Stage 04

Leaf is graded and picked at long tables on the factory floor.

A lot-wise tracking board on the wall keeps each customer’s lot identified as it moves through processing. [CONFIRM]

Stage 05

Leaf is conditioned before threshing, which separates lamina from stem to the agreed specification.

The line is rated at 60 MT/day on a 24-hour basis.

Stage 06

Redrying brings the processed tobacco to the customer’s specified final moisture.

Moisture specification and tolerances are agreed for every programme before processing starts.

Stage 07

Finished tobacco is packed to the format agreed with the customer.

Packing type and bale or carton specifications are set per programme.

Stage 08

A glass-fronted control room sits on the factory floor, beside the line.
